SRINAGAR, Feb 20: Police in Sopore today attached 4 kanals and 2 marlas of orchard land belonging to two proclaimed offenders in Warpora area of Sopore of Baramulla district.
A police spokesperson said the action was carried out under Sections 82 and 83 of the CrPC by a team of police and revenue officials, following approval from the competent authority. He added that the attached property belongs to Afroz Ahmad War, son of Mohammad Maqbool War, and Maqsood Ahmad War, son of Sona Ullah War-both residents of Warpora, Sopore. “The land is registered under survey numbers 3225, 3950, 3956, and 2384 in the Warpora estate,” he said.
He added that the attachment is linked to FIR No. 28/2008, registered under the Enemy Agents Ordinance (Sections 2/3 EMCO), criminal conspiracy (Section 120B IPC), waging war against the state (Section 121 IPC), and the Arms Act (Sections 7/24).”This action is a significant step in the ongoing investigation into subversive activities in the area,” the spokesperson said.
