Financial Literacy Week 2025 by RBI underway

JAMMU, Feb 24: Financial Literacy Week (FLW) 2025 is being observed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) J&K from February 24 and it will go on till February 28.
The objective behind observing FLW is to spread awareness among people about key financial topics through focused campaigns.
Financial Literacy empowers individuals and households to manage their money effectively, plan for their future and make informed and responsible financial decisions that lead to financial well-being and makes them aware of their rights as consumers of financial products and services.
Chandeshekhar Azad, Regional Director, RBI, J&K and Ladakh was present on the inaugural event of FLW in Jammu and Shantmanu, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of J&K was guest of honour.
The event was also attended by Sudhir Gupta, Executive Director, J&K Bank; Neeraj Kumar, General Manager, RBI, Jammu; Vikas Mittal, GM, NABARD, Jammu and Anil Kumar Sharma, DGM, PNB.
Officials of RBI, PIB, SIDBI, UTLBC, Convenor Banks, RRBs, nodal officers of various banks and representatives of Centre for Financial Literacy (CFL) were also present on the occasion.
Theme of FLW this year is ‘Financial Literacy: Women’s Prosperity’ and the campaign will cover topics such as risk diversification, responsible borrowing, maintaining a good credit score and household budgeting and will have special focus on homemakers, working women and women entrepreneurs.
A handout stated that during course of the week RBI, in collaboration with banks and other stakeholders will organize awareness programmes and outreach activities across the country.
