Amandeep Sharma elected YLA’s new President

JAMMU, Mar 1: Advocate Amandeep Sharma was elected as the new President of the Young Lawyers Association (YLA) Jammu.
A YLA spokesperson said that total 649 votes were cast with 790 voters eligible to participate in the exercise.
He said Sharma secured 271 votes, narrowly defeating his closest rival, Advocate Chander Dev Manhas, who received 260 votes. Another contender, Advocate Manik Wazir, secured 118 votes.
In other results, he said, Advocate Bhagirath Singh was elected as the new Vice President with 250 votes, ahead of Jaskaran Singh who secured 169 votes, Advocate Anish Dubey (150 votes), and Advocate Rishav Vaid (89 votes).
According to him, Advocate Saksham was chosen as the new General Secretary, winning 382 votes, while Advocate Anuragh Bakshi received 267 votes.
Similarly, Advocate Hitesh Koul won the post of Joint Secretary with 387 votes, defeating Advocate Karuna Atri, who received 261 votes.
Advocate Sushil Kumar was elected Treasurer with 374 votes, beating Advocate Qadeer Ahmed, who secured 272 votes, said the YLA official.
The election results were confirmed by Advocate Monish Chopra, Chairman of the Election Committee, and Advocate Rohit Sharma, the Returning Officer.
