JKTJAC demands resolution of issues of teaching fraternity

UDHAMPUR, Mar 2: Monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) was held here today under the leadership of UT president Vinod Sharma.
The meeting, attended by executive and apex body members of JKTJAC from all the zones of the district, discussed the issues and demands of the teaching fraternity.
Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma appealed the Education Minister and Principal Secretary School Education to resolve their issues for the welfare of thousands of teachers, especially those appointed under ReT scheme. He appealed the Education Minister for implementation of Govt Order No.469 Edu of 2014 Dated 25.06.2014 regarding inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits and transfer of the said cadre.
Highlighting the issue of release of MDM dues, Sharma said that teachers have managed money from their own pockets for smooth functioning of Mid Day Meals but the funds were released only for 2 to 3 months in the year 2024-25 and still 7 to 8 months funds are pending. He appealed the authorities concerned to look into the matter and release the pending dues otherwise they will be forced to stop Mid Day Meals in new session.
He also appealed Director School Education Jammu for issuance of regularisation orders of ReTs who have completed 5 years ReT period, conversion of RRETs to Teachers Grade II/ III, benefit of Cash in Lieu in favour of teaching fraternity, conversion of headteachers posts into non plan posts of Masters, release of time barred arrears of Teachers/Masters, raising Grade of teachers at par with their counter parts in other UTs, earned leave in favour of teachers engaged during summer/ winter vacation for summer/ winter camps and for other duties, filling up of vacant posts of Headmasters in headless schools.
Others, who also spoke on the occasion, included ham Parkash, Sukesh Khajuria, Pritam Goswami, Ravinder Singh Rathore, Shamsher Singh, Suresh Sharma, Balvinder Singh, Parshant Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, Rakesh Singh, Swarn Singh, Sham Singh, Amit Gupta, Som Raj Sharma, Ranjeet Singh, Vinod Kumar, Sunil Vaid, Ajay Thakur, Raj Pathania, Jagadish Sharma, Mustafa Mohd, Madan Bhardwaj, Amar Dev, Vidi Lal, Pumma Chand, Sunil Verma, Ravinder Atri, Shankar Singh, Shabir, Ravi Kumar, Angrej Singh and others.
