Conf on ‘Algebra, Topology and Applications-2025’ starts at SMVDU

JAMMU, Mar 3: A two-day national workshop cum conference on ‘Algebra, Analysis, Topology and Applications-2025’ was inaugurated here today at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU).
The event was organized under PM Usha scheme.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Associate Professor, School of Mathematics, SMVDU and the Coordinator of the program.
He highlighted that the conference will feature 15 invited talks by eminent experts from IITs, Central Universities and State Universities across the country. Additionally, there will be more than 50 paper presentations by participants. He also mentioned that a workshop on Cryptography will be conducted during the two-day program.
Dr. Kuldip Raj, Associate Professor, Head, School of Mathematics SMVDU and convener addressed the gathering, reflecting on the department’s progress over the years.
Prof. R.K Sharma, IIT Delhi was the guest of honour and he gave an insightful lecture on Cryptography.
Prof. Sunil Kumar Wanchoo, Dean, Faculty of Sciences, SMVDU encouraged the students to publish their research in high quality journals.
Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor SMVDU was chief guest. Prof. Kumar emphasised that Mathematics is the back bone of all the disciplines and motivated faculty members and research scholars to engage in interdisciplinary research.
Finally, Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Assistant Professor and coordinator of the event, proposed the vote of thanks.
