MOSCOW, Mar 4: Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Tuesday confirmed that preparations are underway for the visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to Russia.
“The visit of the Belarusian president to Russia is being prepared. The Russian and Belarusian presidents recently discussed the possibility of such a visit over the phone and agreed that it will take place in the near future. We will let you know exactly when,” Peskov told reporters, answering Sputnik’s question about whether Lukashenko’s visit was on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s schedule.
Putin and Lukashenko discuss issues concerning Ukraine at every meeting, the spokesman noted.
“Ukraine is discussed every time the presidents meet. This issue is constantly on the agenda,” Peskov said when asked by Sputnik if the Ukraine conflict settlement may become a topic of conversation during the upcoming meetings between the two leaders. (UNI)
