JAMMU, Mar 3: Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) stayed in the hunt for the I-League 2024-25 title with a 3-1 win over Inter Kashi at Kalyani Stadium, West Bengal. The victory lifted RKFC to 29 points from 17 matches, just two points behind joint leaders Inter Kashi and Churchill Brothers, who both have 31 points.
Inter Kashi started strong, with Domingo Berlanga and Bryce Miranda testing Real Kashmir’s defence early on. However, the visitors absorbed the pressure and gained control of the match. The breakthrough came in the 37th minute when Ocran Idan’s chip found Abdou Karim Samb, who scored with a superb first-time volley to give RKFC a 1-0 lead. In stoppage time of the first half, Paulo Cézar doubled the advantage with a header from a curling free kick to make it 2-0.
Inter Kashi struggled to break down RKFC’s defence and missed chances, including Bijoy V’s header going over the bar. In the fifth minute of stoppage time, Mario Barco pulled one back for Inter Kashi, but Real Kashmir quickly responded. From the restart, Gnohere Krizo scored a calm finish to seal a crucial 3-1 victory, keeping RKFC’s title challenge alive.
