LEH, Mar 5: The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh today issued two significant orders concerning judicial appointments aimed at strengthening the legal framework in the region.
In the first order, Spalzes Angmo, Principal District and Sessions Judge of Kargil, has been appointed as the Special Judge for Anti-Corruption cases in Kargil district. This appointment is in accordance with Section 3 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, replacing Shabir Ahmad Malik. Angmo will be responsible for presiding over trials related to corruption offences specified in Section 4 of the Act.
In a separate order, Manoj Parihar, the Principal District & Sessions Judge of Leh, has been appointed as the Member Secretary (additional charge) of the Ladakh Legal Services Authority. This appointment has been made under the provisions of sub-section (3) of Section 6 of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
