PDA demolishes over 20 illegal structures

JAMMU, Mar 6: Demonstrating its commitment to safeguard the natural beauty of premier tourist destination, Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) has demolished more than 20 illegal structures in accordance with the established rules.
As per the reports, the PDA carried out drive to remove illegal structures in Kud, Karlah, Patnitop, Sanasar, Tringla, Mantalai, Mall Road, Madha Morh, Kousar and other locations. Moreover many illegal constructions have been stopped at the very initial stages after issuing notices under relevant sections of law.
Even two FIRs have also been lodged against the violators.
“The PDA is operating within a legal framework designed to ensure compliance and accountability and the claims alleging that the authority has enabled unauthorized construction are unfounded. The PDA has actively enforced regulations and has successfully undertaken actions against violators”, reports further said, adding “some enforcement actions have also been taken in the light of the directions issued by the court”.
While being vigilant towards the illegal structures, the PDA has also launched drive to educate the people about the need of initiating collective efforts to protect the environment of premier tourist destination.
