JAMMU, Mar 7: In order to address concerns regarding the confusion about the filling of NFSA (National Food Security Act) forms, a delegation of the Kashmiri Pandit Advisory Committee met with Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, here today.
The members apprised the Chief Secretary that despite his clear instructions issued over a month ago the Relief Commissioner’s office has unnecessarily complicated the matter and set March 10, as the last date for submission of the forms.
The committee in a unified voice reiterated their long standing position that a community in exile for the past 36 years should not be compelled to undergo such formalities without a clear resolution of their dignified and honorable return to their motherland.
Speaking on the development, Bharat Kachroo and Kuldeep Kashmiri termed this as a victory for the community and an official clarification against the uncertainty that had gripped displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
They acknowledged that numerous community members had reached out to them for guidance on whether to submit the forms or not and now with the government’s assurance, clarity has been restored.
The committee remains committed to advocating for the rights and rightful rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and expressed its willingness to cooperate with the government while safeguarding the interests and dignity of the exiled community.
Hira Lal Pandita, Sunil Pandita, Ashok, Ravinder Koul and C L Raina were also present during the meeting.
