JAMMU, Mar 7: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has appointed Sujit Kumar, the 2007 batch AGMUT Cadre IPS officer, as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on a deputation basis for a period of five years.
The Ministry has also appointed senior IPS officer Uttam Chand in Jammu and Kashmir segment of the AGMUT Cadre after his repatriation from the Central deputation.
As per an order, Sujit Kumar, who is currently posted as incharge IGP Security, J&K, has been made the DIG CRPF for a period of five years from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier, said an order issued by the MHA.
As such, the Ministry has directed the J&K Government to relieve Kumar immediately to enable him take up new assignment at the Centre.
Another order said that consequent upon his repatriation from the Central deputation, the 2002 batch AGMUT Cadre IPS officer Uttam Chand has been posted to the J&K segment of the AGMUT Cadre with immediate effect and until further order.
Uttam Chand joined the cadre on February 24, 2025, it said.
