JAMMU, Mar 10: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has approved the promotion of five IPS officers of the Union Territory to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) grade and 12 to the Selection Grade (SG).

As per an order, IPS officers Maqsood-ul-Zaman, Mubassir Latifi Ameer, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Rashmi Wazir, and Rajeshwar Singh-all from the 2011 batch-have been promoted to DIGP Grade (Level 13A in the Pay Matrix) with effect from the date of assumption of charge.
Another order said that officers Maqsood-ul-Zaman, Mubassir Latifi Ameer, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Rashmi Wazir, Rajeshwar Singh, Sandeep Wazir, Anita Sharma, Sameer Rekhi, Jatinder Singh Johar, Swarn Singh Kotwal, Zahid Nasim Manhas, and Koshal Kumar Sharma have been promoted to the Selection Grade (Level 13 in the pay matrix).
Their promotions are notionally effective from January 1, 2024 and January 1, 2025, with actual benefits applicable from the date of assumption of charge, the order said.
The order further said that the promotion orders were issued on the recommendations of the Screening Committee meeting held on December 19, 2024 with the approval of the competent authority.
