JAMMU, Mar 10: Senior Congress leader and DDC Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony today expressed serious concerns over the prolonged hardships faced by the Fair Price Shop (FPS) Dealers Association.
In a statement issued, Tony urged the Minister for Food, Satish Sharma to prioritize and resolve the long-pending demands of the FPS dealers without further delay.
“The FPS dealers have been continuously appealing to the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) for the clearance of their outstanding liabilities, which have been pending since 2019. These include payments related to Centre Share, handling losses (wastage), genuine monthly commissions for the distribution of Mid-Day Meal Rations and other miscellaneous charges, none of which have been received till date.”
“The ongoing delay and harassment faced by them at the hands of the FCS&CA Department is unacceptable,” he said.
Tony appealed to Minister Satish Sharma to intervene directly and ensure the swift disbursement of all pending dues, thereby preventing any further harassment of FPS dealers.
