REASI, Mar 11: A tragic road accident in Mahore area claimed the lives of four persons and left nine others injured as a Tempo vehicle, carrying the victims, rolled down into deep gorge , here today.
The accident took place early this morning when the Tempo vehicle (JK20C 4351) skidded off the road and plunged into deep gorge near Ziarat Morh in Mahore.
According to reports, the vehicle was on way from Jammu to Bagankote when the driver lost control over tyres, leading to the fatal accident. Three passengers died on the spot, while another succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.

The injured were rescued by locals, police and passersby who rushed the victims to Mahore hospital. Doctors referred two of injured to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of their serious condition while five others were shifted to District Hospital Reasi for advanced treatment.
The deceased were identified as Rajesh Singh (26 years), son of Soah Mal, resident of Bagankote; Raj Kour (46 years), wife of Punjab Singh, resident of Malikote; Zoya (6 years), daughter of Saleema, resident of Duggan Malie and Mohd Arif (30 years), son of Mohd Din, resident of Dogian Mahore (declared brought dead at DH Reasi).
The critically injured, who were referred to GMC Jammu, included Zaira Banoo (2.5 years), daughter of Mohd Aslam, resident of Dagir Mahore and Abdul Rashid (50 years), son of Sha Wali, resident of Dagir Mahore.

Other injured were identified as Sandoor Singh (24 years), son of Chalan Singh, resident of Bagankote ( Admitted at DH Reasi); Priya Devi (20 years), daughter of Bhim Singh, resident of Bagankote ( admitted at DH Reasi); Pankaj Singh (19 years), son of Krishan Singh, resident of Bagankote – admitted at DH Reasi; Surat Singh (34 years), son of Kamal Singh, resident of Bagankote -admitted at DH Reasi; Saleema Bano (24 years), resident of Bagankote – admitted at DH Reasi; Kalyan Singh (28 years), son of Chamail Singh, resident of Bagankote – admitted at CHC Mahore and Nasib Singh (18 years), son of Chamail Singh, resident of Dangakote – admitted at CHC Mahore.
According to ARTO Reasi, Neeraj Sharma, who visited the site of mishap, an inquiry into the accident was underway and strict action would be taken if any negligence is detected.
