JAMMU, Mar 12: J&K Police here today organised a ‘Volleyball Tournament’ at Government Higher Secondary School Khour under the ‘Theme Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’.
Eight teams participated in the tournament which was conducted under Civic Action Programme 2024-2025 under the aegis of Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG JSK Range and overall supervision of Staff Officer to DIG JSK Range, SSP, Rajinder Singh Katoch.
The chief guest on this occasion was Rajinder Singh Katoch, SSP and special guests were Rupender Kour, Principal Government Higher Secondary School Khour; Narinder Singh Bhau, Sarpanch; Pathan Singh and Deepak.
A total of 7 matches were played wherein in first match Team Border Line Club Pallanwala beat Team Martyr Dy.SP Gulbadhan Singh Club Khour.
In second match, Team Pangali Club beat Team Jai Maa Kali Club, in third match Team Kallian Club beat Team Krishna Club, in fourth and last league match Team Pargo Club beat Team Hamirpur Nawan Club.
In first semi-final match, Team Border Line Club Pallanwala beat Team Pangali Club and in second semi-final, Team Pargo Club beat Team Kallian Club.
In final, Team Border Line Club Pallanwala registered victory by beating Team Pargo Club.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Rajinder Singh Katoch said that main motive in organising such tournaments is to strengthening Police-Public relations, encourage youth to take more and more part in sports activities and stay away from drugs.
At the end of the tournament, the chief guest and other guests distributed cash prizes, trophies and medals to the winner and runner-up teams.
Consolation prizes were given to all the teams while sports uniforms were already provided to all the participants from Range Police Hqrs Jammu before the start of tournament.
Inspector Neeraj Choudhary, SHO Police Station Khour, ICPP Pallanwala PSI Satjeet Singh, ICPP Pargwal PSI Amit Singh, Staff of Police Station Khour and team of CAP members from RPHQ, Jammu Sub Inspector Suresh Kumar, ASI Tarsem Lal, ASI Jasvir Singh, SgCt Sudesh Sharma, SgCt Dinesh Lalotra and SgCt Pardeep Choudhary were also present on this occasion.
