India Masters beat Australia by 94 runs to qualify for IML final

RAIPUR, Mar 13: India Masters thrashed Australia Masters by a big margin of 94 runs in the semi-final to seal berth in the finals of the ongoing International Masters League at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium Raipur today.
Earlier, riding on a superb batting display by Yuvraj Singh, India Masters scored a big total of 220 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
Yuvraj Singh showed stellar grit and tenacity to notch up and explosive half-century, top scoring with 59 runs off 30 balls studded with one four and 7 massive sixes, while skipper Sachin Tendulkar contributed 42 runs off 30 balls with 7 crispy boundaries. Stuart Binny contributed 36 runs off 21 balls with 5 fours and one six, while Yousuf Pathan contributed brisk 23 off 10 balls with one four and 2 sixes, while Irfan Pathan remained unconquered with power-packed 19 runs off 7 balls studded with 2 fours and one six.
For Australia Men Daniel Christian and X Doherty took 2 wickets each, while Hilfenhaus, N Coul-Nile and S O’Keefe claimed one wicket each. In reply, Australia Masters bundled out for 126 runs, thus losing the match by 94 runs.
Ben Cutting top scored with 39 runs off 30 balls studded with 3 fours and equal number of sixes, while Shaun Marsh, Ben Dunk and S Reardon contributed 21 runs each.
For India Masters, Shahbaz Nadeem was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 4 wickets by conceding 15 runs in his 4 overs, while Vinay Kumar and Irfan Pathan bagged 2 wickets each. Stuart Binny and Pawan Negi also claimed a wicket each. (Agencies)
