Textile Minister honours WWEPC for success of BT25

NEW DELHI, Mar 13: Union Textile Minister Giri Raj Singh presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Wool & Woollens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC) for their outstanding contribution to the success of Bharat Tex 2025 (BT25) during a recent thanksgiving event held in New Delhi. Dr. Romesh Khajuria, Chairman of WWEPC, received the certificate, expressing his gratitude for the recognition.
Dr. Khajuria elaborated on the scale and success of BT25, a global-scale trade fair spread over 2.2 million sq. ft. The event attracted more than 125,000 visitors, including 9,900 buyers, of which over 6,600 were international buyers from more than 140 countries. The estimated export potential from the event was between USD 2 to 2.5 billion.
He further shared that BT25 celebrated India’s rich textile heritage through showcases like “Indie Haat,” which featured 85 master craftspersons and over 80 handicraft styles, including Pashmina Shawls, Paithani sarees, and Kalam Kari painting. Fashion shows, sustainability awards, and 30 live craft demonstrations were also part of the event, promoting India’s craft legacy on a global platform.
The event included 80+ knowledge sessions on 12 thematic pillars, 120+ B2G and G2G meetings, and discussions led by 403 speakers from 30+ countries. BT25’s success was reflected in its high satisfaction ratings, with 91% of exhibitors and 97% of buyers expressing interest in future participation. Dr. Khajuria emphasized that the success of BT25 would act as a catalyst to meet the textile export targets set for the industry.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Pavitra Margarita, Minister of State for Textiles and external affairs, Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary Textiles, Rohit Kansal Additional Secretary for Textiles, Shubra, Trade Advisor, MoT, Narain Goenka, Chairman Bharat Tex Trade Federation(BTTF), Badhresh Dhodia, Co chairman, Dh Rakesh Kumar, Secretary General BTTF, members of the steering committee, Representatives of Textile EPCs(Export Pro Motion Councils), captains of the Textile industry, Representatives of various trade bodies and other logistics providers for the BT25.
