JAMMU, Mar 15: Ved Sharma, Co-Incharge All Cells, BJP J&K, strongly advocated for the implementation of One Nation, One Election, emphasizing that it would significantly strengthen democracy and ensure political stability in the country. He was addressing a gathering of transporters at a program organized by Ashu Mahajan, Convenor of the BJP Transport Cell, J&K, at Bus Stand, BC Road, Jammu. On the occasion, the event was also attended by Romesh Gupta, President Bus Stand Union, Transport Cell Carrier-Convenor Roshan Lal, Sanjeev Gupta and Vikash Chander.
Ved Sharma stated that frequent elections burden the economy and disrupt the flow of governance. “The vision of One Nation, One Election is not just about streamlining the electoral process but about ensuring uninterrupted development. The time and resources wasted in conducting multiple elections throughout the year can instead be used for nation-building,” he asserted.
He also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to democratic reforms, saying, “The BJP-led Government is working tirelessly to introduce progressive policies that make governance more efficient. Simultaneous elections will save public money, reduce policy paralysis, and eliminate administrative stagnation.” Sharma further added that the people of Jammu and Kashmir would greatly benefit from this initiative, as it would bring long-term political stability to the Union Territory.
Ashu Mahajan thanked the transporters for their ongoing support and lauded their role in the region’s economic growth. He emphasized that a stable Government, free from the disruption of frequent elections, would lead to better infrastructure and improved road connectivity for the transport sector. The event concluded with a reaffirmation of support for the One Nation, One Election vision and a commitment to working towards a more developed Jammu and Kashmir under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
