JAMMU, Mar 19: With an aim to foster a robust and dynamic startup ecosystem in the region, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) hosted its first CII J&K startup panel meeting, here today.
The meeting organized by Shivang Mahajan, Convener, CII J&K Startup Panel was attended by industry leaders, entrepreneurs and key stakeholders, both physically and virtually.
Bilal Khan, co-Convener of the panel, joined the discussions remotely from Kashmir, reinforcing the inclusive and collaborative spirit of the initiative.
During the meeting, the participants highlighted critical issues and opportunities to strengthen the startup ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir.
The panel members emphasized the need for effective implementation of the new startup policy in J&K to ensure that startups receive the necessary support and resources to thrive.
They also highlighted the importance of fostering an enabling environment to ensure startups flourish post-registration, rather than facing premature closures due to lack of support.
Addressing Seed Funding Challenges, members also raised the issue of seed funding for startups is a focal point, with calls for innovative funding mechanisms and investor engagement to bridge the financial gap for early-stage ventures.
Finally, the members agreed upon the need for a dedicated startup helpdesk in J&K, emphasized to provide guidance, mentorship and support to new entrepreneurs navigating the complexities of starting and scaling their businesses.
Other members of the panel included Haseeb Renzu, Ayush Sawhney, Deepak Sharma, Adnan Shah, Saqib Laharwal, Abhishek Sachdeva, Abhirath Gulati, Parvez Ahmed and Rachit Mehta also shared their expertise and insights to drive actionable outcomes for the startup community in J&K.
