Amritsar (Punjab), Mar 23: The Amritsar counter-intelligence (CII) has busted a narco-terror module by arresting four drug peddlers from the government hospital in Naraingarh, Chheharta.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Sunday that four kilograms of heroin has been recovered from the arrested accused.
The accused have been identified as Navjot Singh alias Sahil, a resident of Tarn Taran Road, Amritsar, Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran Road, Amritsar, Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Sheron, Tarn Taran, and Aniket, son of Rajpal, a resident of Krishna Mandir, Naraingarh, Amritsar.
DGP Yadav said that an FIR under the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar. Further investigation is underway to trace the contacts of the smugglers.
He said the police was steadfast in its commitment to eradicate organised crime and ensure peace and harmony across the state. (AGENCIESE)
