Sports Council conducts screening for Sub-Jr National Fencing C’ship

JAMMU, Mar 22: Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council today conducted the screening of the J&K Fencing Team for the upcoming 26th Sub-Junior National Fencing Championship (Boys & Girls) 2024-25 at the Indoor Fencing Hall, M A Stadium, Jammu. The championship is set to take place in Cuttack, Odisha, from March 27 to 30, 2025.
The screening process, aimed at ensuring the team’s readiness and eligibility, was overseen by the J&K Sports Council’s Screening Committee, comprising the Divisional Sports Officer (J), Manager Indoor Stadium, a physiotherapist, and the Council’s official photographer. Also present were Javed Chowdhary, General Secretary of the J&K Fencing Association (JKFA), along with national medalists Maninder Pal Singh, Adarsh Slathia, and Anthony Mattoo.
The selected team includes 12 boys and 12 girls who will represent J&K at the national level. The Boys team comprises Samar Pratap Singh, Varchasv Vishal, Tanmay Gupta, Souvik Rajput, Dev Karan Singh Jamwal, Parv Mahajan, Shivansh Sharma, Harnish Singh, Rohan Prashar, Udyan, Kanishk Khajuria and Mansirat Singh.
Girls team include Shranya Sarnyal, Dhanvi Dubey, Utkarsha Sharma, Ananya Rani, Eknoor Kour, Sabrena Chowdhary, Shrija Bali, Aahana Gupta, Mayanshi Kashyap, Ashwathie Sharma, Aarnaa Gaur and Shristi Wazir.
Rahul Prashar will accompany the team as Coach, while Surjeet Kour will serve as Manager.
