JAMMU, Apr 3: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has approved relaxations in promotion criteria for Chief Engineers and Superintending Engineers in the Jal Shakti Department.
As per a Government order, the total length of Gazetted Service required for promotion to Chief Engineer has been reduced from 20 to 18 years, and the mandatory one-year experience as Superintending Engineer has been waived.
Similarly, the required service period for promotion to Superintending Engineer has been reduced from 17 to 15 years, with the experience requirement as Executive Engineer lowered from three years to one year.
These relaxations will remain in effect until the finalization of the J&K Engineering (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules or for one year, whichever is earlier.
