JAMMU, Apr 2: Continuing their ongoing strike for job policy and enhancement in their salary, Vocational Trainers in the School Education Department held a strong protest demonstration, here today.
Shouting slogans and carrying placards in support of their demands, the protesting Vocational Trainers vowed to take their ongoing struggle to a logical conclusion.
The protesting Vocational trainers were demanding a Government Job Policy for them, enhancement of their salary and abolition of middlemen in reporting of their attendance.
The protest was held under the banner of Vocational Training Welfare Association and a number of Vocational Trainers, including female trainers took part in the demonstration.
Talking to media persons on the occasion, the protesting Vocational Trainers provided a comprehensive account of the recent events in their ongoing struggle for justice, fair treatment, and the recognition of their legitimate demands.
They drew attention towards the critical issues affecting vocational trainers, such as inadequate salaries, flawed Vocational Training Provider (VTP) model, and systemic exploitation. “After years of neglect and unfulfilled promises, we felt compelled to go for indefinite strike from March 31, marking it as a critical moment in our fight for justice,” they said and warned to further intensify their agitation if the Government does not take immediate decision on their demands.
Seeking abolition of contractors’ role in their engagement and reporting attendance to the concerned authorities, the protesting Vocational Trainers said that there should be no middlemen between them and the Government.
