Pathania inaugurates NABARD road project in Udhampur East

UDHAMPUR, Apr 4: In a significant push towards strengthening rural connectivity and infrastructure in Udhampur East, MLA Ranbir Singh Pathania inaugurated the Improvement/Upgradation of Road from National Highway to Shri Mohmaya Mata Mandir under the NABARD initiative.
The project, sanctioned at a tender amount of Rs 717.71 lakhs and allotted at Rs 552.43 lakhs, is a key milestone in making Udhampur East a hub of robust road connectivity.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of DDC Chairman Udhampur, Lal Chand, DDC Ashu Sharma, DDC Puran Chand Sharma, Bikram Singh, Balwan Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Rajinder, Subash Sharma, Subash Chander, Deep Singh, Maqbool, Ravinder, Aryan, Anmol, and a large gathering of enthusiastic locals.
While addressing the public, Pathania emphasized the transformative impact of improved road connectivity, describing it as the backbone of development in hilly and remote areas. He underlined that this road will not only provide direct access to the revered Mohmaya Mata Mandir but also uplift the socio-economic standards of the Gujjar Bastis and surrounding villages.
He highlighted major projects being undertaken with the active support of the Union Government, including Majalta Bridge, Thial to Chountra Mata Road, Vishal to Rihana Bridge among others.
“These projects are not just roads; they are lifelines for our people – enhancing access to education, healthcare, religious tourism, and employment opportunities,” said Pathania, and added: “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing an era of unprecedented development, and I remain committed to taking this mission forward with dedication and accountability.”
DDC Chairman Lal Chand extended heartfelt thanks to the Union Government and lauded NABARD’s role in facilitating vital infrastructure works that directly benefit the grassroots population. He affirmed that such initiatives would be a game changer for rural Udhampur.
Local residents, particularly from the ST community, expressed their gratitude towards Pathania for ensuring long-awaited road connectivity to their villages and to the sacred Mohmaya Mata Mandir, which will now be easily accessible to devotees and pilgrims alike.
