KARGIL, Apr 4: International Taekwondo player and state awardee, Shahnaz Parveen, met Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shrikant Suse, at his office in Baroo, Kargil, after her selection for the prestigious World University Taekwondo Championship in Germany.
This marks her second selection for the championship and she remains the only female player from UT Ladakh to represent the region. DC Kargil congratulated Parveen for her remarkable achievement and assured her of full support from the District Administration. He praised her dedication and determination in bringing pride to Kargil, UT Ladakh and India on the global stage.
Parveen also met Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, Joint Director of Sports, UT Ladakh, expressing gratitude for the support from the Department of Youth Services and Sports. She highlighted the financial challenges faced by local athletes and sought sustained assistance for future talent.
