JAMMU, Apr 7: Central body of the J&K Private Schools Association, Jammu today presented a memorandum to the Director School Education Jammu Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary to project their problems and demands.
They urged the Director for the relaxation in the age criteria for the admission of the students to class 1st for the academic session 2025-26 as one time exception for the larger interest of the society.
They said that the Government of India has fixed cut off age of at least 6 years by April 1 of the academic year for a child entering Class Ist as per NEP-2020, which was implemented from 2021 across India whereas in JKUT, NEP was implemented from the academic session 2023 which was two years late than the scheduled time.
“The children who had been admitted at the age of 2+ in nursery class now have completed three years in the pre-primary level. They are now in the age group of 5+ years. Withholding admission of all such students in the same class by a year for not completing their age 6+ on or before March 31st of the academic year will attribute a loss of their academic year,” they explained.
Members also highlighted their serious concern over not obtaining approved management committee due to the delay in verification of antecedent of the members included in management committee of a school by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). They demanded withdrawal of the provision of the CID verification for the approval of the management committee.
The Director School Education Jammu gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation for immediate redressal of their demands and grievances.
The members who accompanied the delegation included Ajay Gupta (President JKPSA , Jammu), Deepak Handa (Sr Vice President), Sat Paul Mansotra (General Secretary), Kiran Raina (Vice President ), Ajay Singh (Vice President), Gourav Charak (Publicity Secretary), Laddi Sharma, Vineet Gupta, Naresh Kumar, Vishal Jamwal, Usha Jamwal, Shabir Malik, Bhanu Jamwal and Deepali Handa.
