JAMMU, Apr 8: Dogri Sanstha Jammu organized a special Dogri Mushaira (poetic meet) at Dogri Bhawan Jammu, here today.
Padmashri Dr Jitender Udhampuri was chief guest on the occasion. Veteran litterateur Prakash Premi was special guest whereas Padmashri Prof Lalit Magotra, President Dogri Sanstha Jammu, presided over the function.
The poets who recited their poems included Dr Jitendra Udhampuri, Prof Lalit Magotra, Prakash Premi, Indrajit Kesar, Ashok Angurana, Purna Chandra Sharma, Deepak Arsi, Bishan Singh ‘Dardi’, Brijmohan, Promila Manhas, Ashok Khajuria, Randhir Singh Raipuria, Pawan Verma, Abdul Quddir Kundria, Ashutosh Parashar, Dr Tarsem Kumar, Jagmohan Sharma, Dr Narendra Bharti, Pankaj Sharma, Rajni Thapa, Neha Sharma, Meenakshi Kesar and Abhinandan Sharma.
Dr Jitendra Udhampuri said that such events help in promoting the literature and help the new entrants to learn the basics from the veterans of the field.
Prakash Premi said that it’s always a pleasure to be part of such mushairas wherein established poets take part and the atmosphere is electrifying with the blend of veterans and youths.
Prof Lalit Magotra said that Dogri Sanstha is committed to preserve and promote mother tongue Dogri and poetic get-togethers help a lot in this mission.
