Srinagar, Apr 8: The newly elected office bearers of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Engineering Graduates Association (JKCEGA) took oath at a formal ceremony held today at the Institution of Engineers, Sonwar.
The event was attended by senior engineers and dignitaries from across the region including former President Muzaffar Ahmad Jan.
Er. Farooq Ahmad Ganaie was sworn in as President for a second term, while Er. Irfan Ahmad Reshi took oath as the General Secretary.
The association had conducted its elections on March 9, 2025, for a fresh three-year term through what it described as a democratic and spirited process.
In his address after the ceremony, Er. Farooq reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to working with “renewed dedication, greater zeal, and unwavering enthusiasm” toward the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
He highlighted the critical role of engineers in driving public service and infrastructure projects across the Union Territory.
He also assured the fraternity that key concerns-such as service dignity, pay disparity, and Assured Career Progression (ACP)-would be taken up with the Government.
“We aim to bring fresh energy and unity within departments and ensure engineers are both heard and valued,” he said.
Er. Farooq thanked members of the Association for reposing their trust in him and pledged full support to the engineering community during his second term.
