JAMMU, Apr 9: Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma today alleged that the National Conference MLAs are trying to spread ‘Legislative Jihad’ in Jammu and Kashmir and they (BJP) will not tolerate it.

“They (National Conference) are demanding restoration of Statehood to spread ‘Legislative Jihad’, it will never happen,” Sharma here told reporters in the Legislative Assembly which was adjourned amidst the pandemonium over demand of discussion on Waqf Amendment Act by the National Conference (NC) and Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) MLAs.
“The National Conference MLAs raised some objectionable slogans in the Assembly and the same slogans were raised in the Kashmir valley in 1990 at the time of exodus of Kashmiri Pandits,” Sharma said.
“The National Conference MLAs and the Government want to spread the ‘Legislative Jihad’ in Jammu and Kashmir and the BJP will never tolerate it,” he stated.
The Leader of Opposition said that the Assembly is not a place for the ‘Legislative Jihad’ and we will not let it become its base, adding, “the Assembly is not the place for such objectionable slogans.”
“This is the reason that they want Statehood. Omar Sahab, you will not get Statehood for this kind of Jihad,” he said.
On the ruckus created in the Jammu Kashmir Assembly for the last three days over the Waqf Bill, he said that the Government is deliberately creating noisy scene and not allowing the House to function.
