Couple absconding in POCSO case arrested after three years

UDHAMPUR, Apr 10: A couple absconding arrest in a POCSO case for the last three years, has been apprehended from Ladakh.
The accused, namely Ashok Kumar son of Hukam Singh, resident of Upper Madha, Chenani and his wife Anju Devi, had been evading arrest for the last three years.
Both of them were wanted in case FIR No. 38/2022 under sections 363/376/344/109/201/506 IPC and Section 4/6 of the POCSO Act, registered at Police Station Chenani.
The case pertains to a heinous crime committed in 2022, following which the accused went into hiding and continuously changed their locations to evade law enforcement agencies.
To facilitate their arrest, the Court of Principal Sessions Judge Udhampur had issued a warrant under Section 512 Cr.PC.
Acting on specific information, a team of Police Station Chenani, led by SHO Jaswinder Singh, conducted a series of coordinated raids and arrested both the absconders from Ladakh.
