JAMMU, Apr 11: The newly elected Board of Directors of the Citizens Cooperative Bank Ltd today unanimously re-elected Parveen Kumar Sharma as Chairman of the bank.
The newly elected Directors are Sumant Singh Jamwal, Varinder Singh Jamwal, Suresh Kumar Gupta, Sachin Gupta, Suneel Mahajan, Sonal Vaid, Charanjit Singh Raina and Ashwani Puri.
Following the election, Government appointed Administrator of the bank, Priyanka Bhat, Joint Registrar (Audit) Cooperative Societies Jammu, along with other members of the Administrative Board, formally handed over affairs of the bank to the newly elected Board of Directors led by the Chairman, with immediate effect.
After taking over as the Chairman, Parveen Sharma thanked the Board of Administration, his fellow Directors, the bank share holders and staff of CCBL for giving him one more opportunity to serve the bank. He reiterated his commitment to lead the bank in a better way with the cooperation of all the stakeholders.
Ravi Kant, Managing Director of the Bank, formally introduced the newly elected Board of Directors and presented the vote of thanks.
Election to the Managing Committee of the CCBL Jammu was announced by the Deputy Commissioner Jammu on March 6, 2025 following which Govt Administrator of the bank issued notice for the same on March 12, 2025 and the process of election was set in motion accordingly. Nominations from the eligible members of the bank were invited and seventeen candidates had filed the nominations against the vacancy of nine Directors. The last date of filing the nomination was April 7, 2025 and the nominations were scrutinized by the concerned Returning Officer on April 8, 2025 in which 16 nominations were found valid. However, seven candidates withdrew their nominations on April 10, 2025 thus leaving behind only nine candidates, who were declared elected unopposed.
The Returning Officer, Mushtaq Ahmed, Collector J&K Housing Board, Jammu, formally declared the election to the Managing Committee of the CCBL Jammu as unanimous and issued the respective certificate to the elected candidates.
