GoI should involve religious scholars for return of KPs: MLA

JAMMU, Apr 12: MLA Tral, Mohd Rafiq Naik was honoured by Temples & Shrines Prabandhak Committee, (TSPC), Tral Awantipora during a grand function at Community Hall Muthi near here.
President TSPC, Tral Awantipur, P L Bhat submitted a memorandum on behalf of Committee and Biradri highlighting various issues of encroachments, dilapidated condition of temples and shrines situated throughout the length and breadth of sub district, Tral and sought his assistance and help in mitigating these issues being confronted by our community.
The issue of reconstructing Mahakali Asthapan, the encroachment of land at Pinglish and demarcation of cremation grounds were stressed upon in the memorandum. In addition land of Ahale Hanood in various village which were previously inhibited by KP community was also raised.
The president in his speech expressed the hope that in reasonable time frame the demands will be met through various agencies in the Government.
MLA in his address assured that he will continue to follow his late father’s legacy irrespective of politics. He further said that Kashmir and Kashmiriyat is incomplete without Pandits. On behalf of his community he said “We all irrespective of age and gender are waiting to welcome you’’.
He further assured that he will leave no stone unturned to help Pandits at every level in the Government and at the same time he also sought cooperation and suggested to come forward without any fear and inhibition.
At political level, he suggested that Government of India need to involve religious scholars, preachers of majority community in making a congenial atmosphere which will help in return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits who are inseparable part of Valley.
Vote of thanks was presented by J L Pandita, general secretary of the Committee.
The proceedings were conducted by vice president C L Bhat who narrated a brief history of exodus, pain and agony which the community goes through by being away from its homes and hearths.
