CAT issues bailable warrants against GAD Secy

JAMMU, Apr 15: A Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Jammu comprising Rajinder Singh Dogra (Member-J) and Ram Mohan Johri (Member-A) has issued bailable warrants for ensuring presence of Commissioner/ Secretary, General Administration Department.
The warrants have been issued in a Contempt Petition filed by the applicant for non-compliance of the order dated March 22, 2024 passed by the Tribunal in an application titled “Rajan Vikrant Versus J&K and Others”.
“Perusal of the record reveals that the contemnors were granted several opportunities to file the compliance report in pursuance to the order passed in the main case but they failed to file the report. Moreover, vide orders dated 19.11.2024, 19.12.2024 and 06.03.2025 the contemnors were granted to file report or remain present before the court on next date of hearing and explain why contempt proceedings be not initiated against them”, the CAT observed.
“Since the contemnors have failed to appear before the court even today, we are left with no other option but to issue bailable warrants with two surety bonds to the tune of Rs 25,000 each for ensuing presence of contemnor No.1– M Raju, Commissioner/ Secretary, General Administration Department before this court on the next date of hearing positively”, the Tribunal said.
The Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu has been directed to execute bailable warrants and ensure the presence of contemnors.
