JAMMU, Apr 15: Former Sarpanch from Panchayat Rathian in District Udhampur, Dewan Singh joined National Conference in presence of the Jal Shakti Minister and Forest, Javed Ahmad Rana, and Provincial president Jammu Province Rattan Lal Gupta during a function at Udhampur town.
Welcoming Dewan Singh into the party fold, Javed Rana described the National Conference as a mass movement that has all along stood for the just cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and strived for development and progress of the J&K with a sense of commitment. He hoped that with the joining of Dewan Singh the party would be further strengthened at the grass roots level.
Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial head urged the people to support the National Conference, as they believe it is the only secular party that can fulfill the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for a brighter future for the generations to come and work towards equitable development, progress, peace and brotherhood in J&K.
Dewan Singh pledged to carry forward the mission of the National Conference in transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a peaceful and progressive area with devotion and dedication.
Speaking on the occasion, Babu Rampal former Minister and Central Zone president and Vijay Lochan, Chairman of JKNC SC Cell, lauded the NC’s role in safeguarding the interests of depressed classes.
