KARGIL, Apr 15: The AN-32 Kargil Courier Service concluded its operations for the season today, with the final flight airlifting 41 passengers from Jammu to Kargil.
The service had started on February 8, 2025, following the closure of Zojila Pass due to winter snowfall.
A statement said that since then, a total of 3,192 passengers were transported under the courier service.
“This includes 1,370 passengers flown from Jammu to Kargil, 289 from Kargil to Jammu, 1,211 from Srinagar to Kargil, and 322 from Kargil to Srinagar,” it said.
Passengers thanked the authorities for ensuring smooth air connectivity during the Pass closure.
They expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, LAHDC Kargil, Member of Parliament Ladakh, UT Ladakh Administration, Civil Aviation Department, and the Deputy Commissioner Kargil for their efforts.
Acknowledgement was also given to the Indian Air Force, Ministry of Defence, Airport Authorities in Jammu and Srinagar, Air India and AIASL teams, as well as CISF and CRPF personnel for their role in facilitating safe air travel.
