JAMMU, Apr 20: The Jammu & Kashmir Under-19 men and women boxing team left for Noida, today to participate in the 7th Youth U-19 Men and Women National Boxing Championship, scheduled to be held from April 21 to 28.
The 14-member team-screened by the J&K State Sports Council’s screening committee-is participating under the banner of the J&K Amateur Boxing Association and is sponsored by the J&K Sports Council.
The men’s team includes Vishesh (Jammu), Kinshuk (Jammu), Keshav (Poonch), Rajneesh (Jammu), Aditya (Jammu), Kanav (Jammu), Hadi Hassan (Kupwara), Parbakarn (Jammu) and Anish (Samba).
The women’s team features Sachi (Jammu), Nandita (Kathua), Joyeeta (Kathua), Shivangi (Srinagar) and Shivani Kachroo. The team is accompanied by coaches Mohammad A, Rahul Kumar and Rahul Kachroo, while Ananay Chowdhury is serving as the coach-cum-manager.
Officials expressed optimism about the performance of the young boxers, citing their strong preparation and determination. The championship will provide an important platform for these athletes to showcase their talent and compete for national recognition.
