HM reviews security in Srinagar

Srinagar Apr 22: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Srinagar this evening to review the security situation after the deadly attack in Pahalgam in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed this afternoon.
An official said that Shah directed the security agencies to go all out against the terrorists and their sympathizers and leave no stone unturned for the elimination of terror from Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that the Home Minister pulled the security agencies for their failure to prevent such an attack and asked them to use their full might to crush the terror elements in J&K.
The official said that he stressed coordinated efforts to security agencies and asked them to eliminate those responsible for the Baisaran attack.

“Anguished by the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. My thoughts are with the family members of the deceased. Those involved in this dastardly act of terror will not be spared, and we will come down heavily on the perpetrators with the harshest consequences,” Shah posted on X.
The security review meeting was attended by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Atal Duloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, IGP Kashmir, Director IB, ADGP CID, IGP CRPF, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Srinagar based Chinar corps and other top officials.
The Home Minister was received by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, his Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat and others at the airport.
The Chief Minister briefed the Union Home Minister about the Pahalgam attack at the airport itself.
Shah drove straight to the Raj Bhavan where he chaired a high level security meet.
The Union Home Minister will visit the terror attack site at Baisaran in Pahalgam tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Suchendra Kumar also arrived in Srinagar to review the security situation.
Army Commander will be briefed by local formation commanders on the present security situation in Kashmir. He was in New Delhi for a security conference.
