Kashmiri Hindus in US protest, demand homeland for Pandits in Valley

CALIFORNIA, Apr 28: In a significant and emotionally charged demonstration, Hindu American Foundation (HAF), Kashmiri Overseas Association (KOA), Kashmiri Hindu Foundation (KHF), and the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) jointly organized a major protest today to condemn the brutal terrorist attack on Hindu tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir strongly advocated for separate homeland for Kashmiri Hindus within Valley.
The demonstrators, carrying saffron flags, placards, and banners, gathered to express their deep anguish and anger over yet another act of terror targeting Hindus in the Kashmir Valley. The protestors also paid solemn homage to all Hindu martyrs of Kashmir, from the early victims of forced conversions and persecution since the advent of Islam in the region to the catastrophic genocide and mass exodus of the Kashmiri Pandit community in 1989-90.
Ankit Monga, president of Kashmiri Hindu Foundation USA categorically stated, “No superficial rehabilitation measures, return plans, or ‘reconciliation gimmicks’ would succeed. “Kashmiri Hindus must be re-established in a Union Territory of Panun Kashmir under full Constitutional protection and direct governance by India”, arguing that this is the only way for India to establish a strong foothold in Kashmir and establish real sense of normalcy”.
“The Government must not use tourism as a tool to claim normalcy and instead must issue a travel advisory for the citizens of India travelling to Kashmir for their safety and security recognising the threat on their lives”, Monga added.
Speakers passionately recounted the long, painful history of religiously motivated violence that has, over centuries, systematically destroyed Kashmir’s indigenous Hindu civilization. They asserted that the recent attack was not an isolated event but part of a deeply entrenched continuum of genocide that seeks to erase the cultural and spiritual heritage of Kashmir.
