JAMMU, Apr 29: Jagti Migrant Welfare Movement (JMWM) has expressed grave concern over water scarcity in the Jagti township.
Chairman of the Movement, Sunil Pandita and its other office bearers, Ashwani Kumar Bhat and Ashok Dhar said that for last six days the inmates of Jagti township are facing water crisis after the motor installed for lifting the water developed a snag. They said no steps have been taken to restore the water supply to the township during last six days with the result people are facing problems in this scorching heat due to water scarcity.
They urged the authorities of Relief and Rehabilitation Department to take immediate steps in restoring the water supply to the township.
They also expressed concern over failure of Government in releasing the flour quota to migrants and said it is very difficult to purchase the flour from the market at exorbitant prices. They demanded immediate release of flour quota to migrants.
