DDC Ganderbal reviews progress of PMGSY roads in district

GANDERBAL: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today convened a meeting here to review the progress on roads under PMGSY in the district and to discuss the issues hampering the progress on certain works.
The Executive Engineer PMGSY briefed the chair about the progress made on varous ongoing schemes and raised certain issues that are hampering the progress on schemes like Gujjarpati-II, Upper Basti, Sumbal Bala Checkgund, Bhat Mohalla, Khatanapati, Gitch Khud and others in the district.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on the various issues like land acquisition, permission for carrying material, forest land issue, shifting of utilities etc that are hampering the progress of various schemes under PMGSY.
The Executive Engineer PMGSY informed that few schemes are hampered due to material supply issue for which DDC directed the DMO to issue permission for lifting of material for the identified sites so that such roads get completed within the stipulated time frame.
The DDC directed the concerned officers to immediately settle all issues like land compensation, court cases (if any), shifting of utilities, forest issues etc so that road infrastructure in rural areas is developed in the shortest possible time.
While discussing the land acquisition issues of few roads, the DDC asked the ADC and ACR to conduct joint visit at such sites along with Executive Engineer PMGSY and resolve the issues onspot with locals besides extend full cooperation for sorting out the revenue matters of such roads at an earliest.
The Executive Engineer R&B was directed to submit the assessment of structures coming under various roads under PMGSY. Similarly the CAO was Directed to submit report of walnut trees and other fruit bearing tress at an earliest.
He also directed the officers of PMGSY to expedite the work progress on all ongoing/pending schemes so that they get completed in a time bound manner.
The DDC stressed for greater coordination among the line departments for removing all bottlenecks that are hampering the development in the district in larger public interest.
