‘Geetein Bharochi Shaam’ organised at Academy

JAMMU, Dec 8: A Dogri song program named ‘Geetein Bharochi Shaam’ was organised at The KL Sehgal Auditorium at J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages in which various artists performed on Dogri songs in different styles.
The music of all these performances was composed by Brij Mohan Sharma.
The singers included Jeevan Sharma, Sonali Dogra, Vishal Gupta, Dr Kewal Samnotra (Child Specialist), Vivek Mohan, Ram Lal, Rakesh Chauhan, Simran Sharma, Damneet Kour, Kashish Sharma, Bhawna Kanwar, Rahul Lakhnotra, Antriksh Taroch and Umesh Sawhney.
The program was presided over by Professor Lalit Magotra, president Dogri Sanstha. Preet Pal Singh Betab, IAS ( Retd) was the chief guest of the program. Zorawar Singh Jamwal was the guest of honour.
The program was organized under the able guidance of Bharat Singh Manhas, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. Dr Shannawaz, Culture Officer JKAACL presented the welcome and introductory address.
The audience were enthralled by the scintillating performances made by Dr. Kewal Samnotra, who made a melodious presentation on Pahadi style of singing composed By Brij Mohan. Jeevan Sharma sang in his own peculiar and popular style. Another noteworthy performance was made by Sonali Dogra who sang a super melodious Bhaakh.
The experiments in different styles of composition made by Brij Mohan were appreciated by the audience.
The Academy spokesperson informed that more such programs shall be organised in future by involving new artists in new experimental styles.
