A bench of CJI D Y Chandrachud, and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra said the deputy ministers are under Constitution just members of the council of ministers headed by the CM and nothing more. The bench dismissed a PIL challenging the appointment of deputy CMs on the ground that no such post finds mention in the Constitution. SC says appointment of dy CMs does not breach any provision of the Constitution.
