DC Udhampur holds public outreach programme in Kulwanta

UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib conducted an extensive tour of far flung areas of Block Kulwanta of Tehsil Ramnagar and listened to public issues during a public outreach programme. The BDC Chairman, Sushma Devi, DDC Councillor, Ashri Devi, Sarpanchs, Panches besides a large number of general public of adjoining Panchayats of Block Kulwanta attended public outreach programme and projected several demands and problems being faced by them. They demanded repair of Ramnagar to Dudu Basantgarh road, Inclusion of RC peak in tourism map, Completion of Kulwanta Bari to Tangan road, Upgradation of High School Kulwanta to Higher Secondary School, Upgradation of Ayurvedic dispensary to PHC, Establishment of police Chowki at Kulwanta, Opening of Primary School, Shortage of staff in Health and Education Department, Opening of first Aid Centre, Establishment of patwar Khana, Land compensation etc. At Keya local people met with DC and projected their demands Viz Shortage of staff in GHSS at Keya, Repairing of passenger shed. While interacting with the public, the DC said that the main objective of this programme is to take a firsthand appraisal of important issues at grassroots level. She said that such platforms enable District administration to know the multifaceted problems being faced by the general public . These outreach camps help reach governance at the door steps of public which improves public service delivery mechanism. During the programme many grievances were redressed on the spot by intervention of the officers of concerned departments. The DC directed the officers to work with missionary zeal so that the people of area may not deprive off getting their genuine demand. She asked the officers to aware the people about income generating and beneficiary oriented ]schemes launched by Government of India and UT Govt. The DC noted all the demands of the public and assured that all their genuine issues and demands would be addressed in a time bound manner. She directed the officers to work in coordination so that equitable development of all Panchayats is ensured. Enroute, the DC held another public outreach programme at Gandh top and listened to demands of scores of public delegations.
She listened to the grievances of the public and also sought cooperation of people in better public delivery system. The DC showed concern upon the poor condition of the road leading to Gandtop area and said that the district administration will start the process to repair the road. The DC also directed the officers to gear up and ensure that the difficulties of the people are addressed and resolved at the earliest. The DC also discussed the landslide that had occurred in September last year and directed the concerned Tehsildar to prepare a proposal for the accommodation and relief for affected families.
