Sir,
The CVC’s recent report highlighting 34 cases of non-compliance in tackling corruption is a stark reminder of the systemic challenges India faces in ensuring accountability.
It is deeply concerning that major Government bodies, including the Ministry of Railways and SBI, have diluted or ignored the CVC’s advice against officials guilty of serious misconduct.
Such leniency not only weakens our vigilance mechanisms but also perpetuates a culture of impunity. When public institutions fail to enforce strict penalties, the essential deterrent against corruption is lost, eroding public trust and undermining the transparency that the CVC stands for.
To restore faith in governance, it is imperative that the CVC’s recommendations are implemented rigorously, without dilution or favoritism.
Only then can we hope to strengthen the integrity of our institutions and effectively combat corruption.
