ADGP Jammu inaugurates Badminton Tournament

JAMMU: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu, Anand Jain, on Saturday inaugurated a Badminton Tournament at the Badminton Hall, District Police Lines (DPL), Jammu. The event witnessed an overwhelming response with the participation of over 100 players, including both boys and girls, showcasing their talent and passion for the sport.
While addressing the participants and attendees, Anand Jain emphasized the importance of staying away from harmful habits, particularly drug abuse which has become widespread in society.
He urged the youth to channel their energy into productive activities like sports, which promote discipline and a healthy lifestyle. He also advised parents to take active responsibility for the well-being of their children, ensuring that they stay on the right path.
The ADGP Jammu expressed his gratitude to the technical officials for their contribution to the smooth conduct of the tournament.
He further assured that the Jammu and Kashmir Police are fully committed to the development and promotion of sports activities in the Union Territory. He reiterated that such initiatives help in keeping the youth engaged and away from negative influences.
During the inauguration ceremony the officers who were present on the occasion which include Gulzar Singh Slathia, former Inspector General, J&K Police, Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG,JSK Range, Kameshwer Puri, SP, OPS, Ajay Sharma, SP South, Balbir Singh Jamwal, General Secretary, BAJK and parents/Badminton faculty.
The tournament, which has attracted significant attention, will conclude tomorrow, October 13, 2024, with a prize distribution function.
