JAMMU, Nov 15: In an exciting 25 overs U-17 Friendship Cup match held at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor defeated Raghuveer Cricket Academy (RCA) Sunderbani by 6 wickets. The match, organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the supervision of Suresh Malhotra and Ravinder Chowdhary, showcased promising young talent.
RCA Sunderbani batted first, scoring 167/7 in their allotted 25 overs. Kartikeya led the innings with a brilliant 74 off 64 balls, supported by Raghuveer Singh (26) and Pranav Sharma (10). Singh Cricket Club’s bowlers impressed, with Jatin Mahi taking 2 wickets for just 9 runs in his 5 overs. Surya Dev Singh also claimed 2 wickets, while Rishu, Sourav and Sanyam chipped in with a wicket each.
In response, Singh Cricket Club chased the target with ease, reaching 168/4 in 24.1 overs. Akash anchored the innings with a steady 47, while Amar Kotwal contributed 35 and Binay Partap Singh added 21. Rishu Kumar’s quick 18 off 11 balls sealed the victory. RCA bowlers Lovish, Kartikeya, and Kanhaiya Jamwal each claimed a wicket.
Jatin Mahi was named as Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance. Chief guest Kr. Sham Singh Langeh, Zonal Head of the Divyang Cricket Control Board of India, inaugurated the match and encouraged young players to excel in sports while focusing on their studies and avoiding harmful habits.
