JAMMU: Under “Khelo India” Mission initiated with purpose of mobilizing youth toward sports, the Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK) has launched a nine-day special drive in Chenab Valley region of J&K UT from November 18 to 25, 2024.
During this drive almost all districts of erstwhile Doda district such as Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban shall be extensively covered to channelize the energies of youth towards sports and in constructive activities.
Besides this, three district level volleyball championships at Bhaderwah, Kishtwar and Banihal area shall be organized during the drive.
The youth drawn from far flung areas of Paddar, Gandoh, Chinta, Jai, Gool, Ukral etc. having great potential in sports especially in volleyball shall be involved in these championships who shall be shortlisted for ensuing JKUT Volleyball championship as well as National Championships.
A team comprising of technical experts, International Volleyball coaches, office bearers of VAJK has been constituted for talent hunt as well as exposure of such volleyball players from the these areas who will excel their performances and bring laurels for JKUT and India in near future.
In this drive youth shall also be mobilized to shun the menace of drug addiction and urge upon to help the civil society in eradicating various social evils which are prevalent in the society at present.
In all over 600 players shall be actively involved in sports in general and volleyball in particular of Chenab Valley.
The special nine-day drive will culminate at Village Tether, Banihal area of Ramban district, disclosed by Kuldip Magotra, Chief Executive Officer Volleyball Association of J&K.
