NOWSHERA, Nov 20: Three individuals sustained injuries after a speeding truck overturned and fell on an Alto car at Nowshera late on Wednesday night.
The collision of truck and Alto car (JK11A-8389) at Garn Morh near Rajal area of Nowshera trapped the car’s occupants inside the vehicle, eyewitnesses said.
According to them, local residents, alerted by passersby, rushed to the scene and managed to evacuate two of the injured passengers, transporting them to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Nowshera.
Subsequently, they said, a joint team of the Army and police arrived and rescued the third individual, who was stuck inside the truck. He was also shifted to SDH Nowshera for treatment.
BMO Nowshera, Dr Iqbal Malik, confirmed that all three injured individuals received first aid at the hospital.
He stated that they would be referred to Government Medical College Jammu if further medical attention is required.
The injured have been identified as Altaf Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed; Mohammad Tariq, son of Mohammad Sadiq; and Azhar Javaid, son of Mohammad Sharif, all residents of Thannamandi.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the law at Nowshera police station, and further investigations are underway.
