JAMMU, Nov 21: Mortal remains of the Katra youth, who died in a road accident at Cayman Island in British Overseas Territory a few days back, will arrive at Delhi on November 25.
This information was shared by the Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, who took the initiative in this regard after MLA Katra, Baldev Sharma and DDC Rajesh Mengi brought the matter into his notice.
Pertinent to mention that Nikhil Antal (31), son of Kuldeep Chand, resident of Panthal, Tehsil Katra, district Reasi, had died in a road accident at Cayman Island on November 11, 2024. He was working with Narayana Hospital and had gone to Cayman Island for some technical training.
As body of the deceased was stuck there because of legal formalities and remote area, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh personally took up the matter with the External Affairs Ministry as well as all the concerned quarters.
After the matter was resolved, Dr Jitendra posted on X: “Important Information for the family of Nikhil Antal S/o Kuldeep Chand R/o Panthal, Tehsil Katra, district Reasi, #JammuAnd Kashmir.”
“The mortal remains of Nikhil, who unfortunately met with an accident and passed away at Cayman Island in British overseas Territory, have been arranged to be flown back to India by Lufthansa Airlines and will arrive at Delhi on 25/11/2024 at 12:05 am. Profuse thanks to the Ministry of External Affairs for their cooperation. This is yet again a reflection of the sensitivity and promptness with which the Government headed by PM Narendra Modi functions,” he posted.
