Kishtwar, Dec 4: Two people died and 14 others were injured after a vehicle they were traveling in plunged into a deep gorge at Dangdoor area of Kishtwar district on Wednesday evening, sources said.
Officials told that a cruiser vehicle (6576-JK17) in which the employees of an under-construction power Project Company met with an accident.
He said that the driver lost control over the vehicle and fell into a deep gorge near Treethal Nala at Dachhan.
As soon as the accident took place, locals and the police immediately started rescue operations, however, two people died on the spot while 14 others were injured.
The injured were immediately shifted to the district hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh said in a post on X, “Just now spoke to DC #Kishtwar, Sh Rajesh Kumar Shavan after receiving the news of an unfortunate accident of cruiser in Dandaru area. Two casualties reported. More updates awaited. Meanwhile, rescue operation has started. My office is in constant touch. All required help will be provided.
